about me

My name is Annette Frimtzis and I am a retired mechanical engineer who has worked for more than thirty years developing and reviewing software for military applications. I worked for major aerospace corporations and in 1984 formed my own software engineering company. I started painting when I was nine years old. Later, in high school, my design was selected for the cover of the yearbook. I received my degree from CCNY (City College of New York) as the only female in the mechanical engineering graduating class. I took my first job in engineering for two years until our first child was born and remained home for eight years taking care of four children. I then entered the aerospace world and remained there while painting infrequently. My husband, also an engineer, supported me in these endeavors. I am presently a member of SAG and the Artist Alliance Group.

My Statement

I love to paint children, especially ethnic ones. I paint trying to show emotions because I want the viewer to experience emotions also while viewing my art. My creativity flows through my brush as I create new pieces and allows me to express my feelings in a unique way through all mediums including sculpture, glass and paint. Creating jewelry and experimenting with different techniques, different color palettes and textures, including collage are part of my efforts. I enjoy sharing my work with others and inspiring them. I use my art as therapy for those who cannot express themselves other than art.
